Community involvement has always been a pertinent part of the Firm’s core values. We believe in the importance of having a positive impact on both our local and national communities. For this reason, we work best to understand the needs and priorities of our communities and how best we can assist by offering our skills, experience, time and philanthropic support to have the greatest impact. Our community involvement has three main areas of focus:

ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

Developing a paperless initiative, a multifaceted program to promote green workplace behaviours, adopt best practices, and leverage technologies to reduce paper in the workplace. Our vision is to reduce both our off-site records inventory and physical consumption of paper within the next few years. Changing imaging technologies across the firm with the understanding that consistent use of features such as double-sided or multiple-page printing can dramatically decrease paper consumption. Sending electronic greetings for festivities and public holidays since the commencement of practice. In keeping with our commitment to the environment, this has eliminated paper wastage related to mailing cards and related paraphernalia. Using technological means for internal and external meetings, and where needed, to carpool using hybrid or electric vehicles.

CHARITABLE GIVING

Raihan & Shai, directly and through its lawyers and staff, contribute to a wide variety of charitable and non-profit organisations. We appreciate just how well-positioned we are as lawyers to have a positive impact on society. So, we try to use our expertise and experience, allied to the passion for justice that made us want to be lawyers in the first place, to do good. We encourage and promote engagement within our firm by rewarding and recognising those team members who donate their time to participate in pro bono work.
